Khanty's Traditional Celebration
Do you think that photofinish, mess at the start line and dramatic falls near the finish are a part of the Olimpic Games and F1 races? Not at all!
I had a chance to see those things my own eyes at competitions during a celebration of reindeer breeder, hunter and fisherman.
It was a soulful celebration! It was nice to find out that this celebration becomes more popular.

2. That day we had our breakfast in a raw-hide tent. We are entering the raw-hide tent.
3. We were sitting here. An oven, which was used for cooking and warming-up, was in the center. It was warm in front of it but a little cold behind the oven.
4. We had a traditional meal, which consists of meat and dough in broth. There is no pasta or macaroni in Taiga.
5. There were a lot of kids here. All of they are studying in a local boarding school.
6. Everyone had a chance to have a ride in a reindeer sleigh.
7. A market near the central scene of the celebration. They sold clothes of fur and leather, berries, nuts, meat, souvenirs, etc. I was surprised to see raspberries here!

11. It is always nice to meet husky. Beautiful dogs!
12. I liked those dolls without faces. A doll with a face is a bad sign. They believe that the evil spirit may get into a doll with a face.
13. The central entertainment of the celebration is a race with a great prize, a snowmobile Buran. Sometimes reindeer sleigh ran into each other.

31. I would like to thank those, who organized the celebration for the warm clothes and shoes that we got. We would not be able to make pictures without it! I would get cold in half an hour my own winter clothes, because it was windy. Those competitions were sponsored by authorities of Surgut's region.
